The project to evaluate the efficacy of homoeopathy with reference to Borland’s Children constitutional types in the treatment of different diseases was started at Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in the year 2002.
I. Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital
During the period 1st April 2004 to 31st December 2004, 114 cases were registered. Of these 85 cases (45 males and 40 females) reported regularly. Majority of these cases were having respiratory problems, skin diseases or behavioural problems. Marked improvement was in 19 cases, moderate in 20 cases and mild in 16 cases. The most useful medicines in Group I were Calc carb., Calc phos., Tub., Silicea., Phos., in Group II Sepia., Nat mur., Baryta Carb., Group- II Graph., Psor., and Group IV are Chamomilla, Ars alb., Cina.
Other medicines given on constitutional and reportorial basis and found useful were Tarentula h, Stram., Abrot., Staph.and Arg nit.
II. Dr. B. R. Sur Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital

A similar study was started at Dr. B. R. Sur Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in 2003. There were total 92 registered cases (18 old cases + 74 new cases) during the period 1st April 2004 to 31st December 2004. The maximum cases are in the age group of 2-8 years. The disease incidence seen was URTI, Enuresis, Delayed milestones, chronic tonsillitis, Pica, skin diseases etc. Some of the drugs found useful were Aloes, Alumina, Allium cepa, Antim tart, Ars alb, Aur triph, etc. The homoeopathic drugs mentioned in Borland children type under different groups were given. The most frequently used drugs from Borland Group I were 20 cases, followed by Group V (9 cases), Group IV (8), Group II (5 cases) and Group III (One case).
